Pin It Forward: What Feels Like Home

Today I am posting about what feels like home for sfgirlbybay's collaboration project called Pin-It-Forward. With over 300 bloggers participating, the idea is to create a pinboard by using Pinterest filled with images that evoke the feelings of home. 

John and I have only been in our new place (well, new to us) for about 8 months, so we are still in the process of making this house our home. So with that in mind, I set out to find images that evoke the feeling of home we are trying to create.

The ocean always means home to us, with the salty air, sound of the waves, sand between our toes, and freshly ridden surfboards drying on the lawn.  The first picture is of the pier right across the street from our new little home.

As for inside our house, we tend to lean towards a light and airy feel, lots of mid century vintage with some warm modern touches here and there.

Making a house a home is all in the details... for us that consists of hanging amazing artwork, some graphic looking plants, vintage kitchen goods and a handful of meaningful knickknacks.

And home will have to have a creative space...

But really, home is anywhere this boy is...

 and of course our furry little girl!

One of the greatest features of using Pinterest is that all the photos posted from your pinboard are linked to their original source via your board, so it makes blogging a breeze!  You can see all my sources at my pinboard here.
