What I Need to Hear

A little pep talk with myself...

No one said this was going to be easy. That which is easy is rarely worth our time. As dad said, 'if it was easy, everyone would do it'. Four months from now, you will look back through your portfolio in awe of your work's transformation. I promise, you will, but you have to let go, stop worrying. Instead of trying hard, simply work hard. Transformation will not come from a place of fear.  Fear repels growth. You are relearning how to see. You must be very patient with yourself, because like fear, frustration is stunting. And remember, procrastination is perfectionism's minion, you'll rarely encounter one without the other. Be brave, be open to mistakes, and most importantly, be patient. And take pictures. Lots of pictures.

  1. i agree take LOTS of pictures of everything and don't be scared that they don't turn out right...mistakes are all about the learning process...without them sometimes it is hard to learn how to grow!

    go get em tiger!!

  2. Your dad is obviously a wise man! Listen to him! Judging from your work, you're clearly very bright and quite talented, so this photog thing will come to you soon, so be patient, grasshopper, I mean bird!
